Houston’s own Marcus D. Wiley

MARCUS D. WILEY

Many years ago when most people were just catching on to ‘ Go  Green’ to keep the environment Eco Friendly, comedian Marcus D. Wiley had already made his contribution by injecting healthy laughter to the masses through “Clean Comedy.”

Fast forward a decade later he is now co-host to a Nationally Acclaimed Syndicated radio show airing in fifty-two of the nation’s most popular cities, The Yolanda Adam’s Morning Show”; where millions tune in to listen and can’t seem to get enough of Marcus D. Wiley’s alter ego “Bishop Secular” who soars on shrewd satire of the religious prosperity movement.

Marcus D. Wiley rose to fame almost five years ago when Grammy Award Winning Yolanda Adams asked him to join her team as her co-host.  Since his inception to the show Mr. Wiley’s ubiquitous appeal has revolutionized and enticed the fashion savvy and culturally cognizant generation’s from young to old.

He along with his cast mates have become so prevalent that even distinguished Award Show Ceremonies such as The Stellar Awards has taken notice and presented the entire cast of “The Yolanda Adams Morning Show” with the 2011 Stellar’s “Broadcaster of The Year Award.”

When Wiley isn’t on air spreading contagious laughter to the airwaves with his trend setting approach that clean comedy can be sexy and edgy, he can be found traveling around the nation performing standup to sell out audiences.

One might wonder “Where” a comedian turned co-host who seems to have just fallen from the sky actually came from, and “How” is he able to make his audience cry and laugh all at the same time without using the N’word, or any profanity for that matter?

Maybe it was the strong family values that were preached to him on a regular basis by his grandparents who are still alive and have been happily married for over Fifty-Years.  In fact, some of his material he uses on stage comes straight from childhood memories and happy times spent with his parents and grandparents.

If you ask this Texas born and raised Comedian what kind of childhood he had.  He will quickly tell you   “It was like the sitcom ‘The Jefferson’s.’  When I was nine years old my mom married a Pastor. She became a ‘First Lady’ and I became a ‘Preacher’s Son.’ I will never forget the day he picked me and my mom up in a stretched limousine; we felt like we were in an episode of ‘The Jefferson’s.’ We had moved on up.” States Wiley.

Mr. Wiley’s “Triple Threat” status in the entertainment industry comes from three notables Co-host, Comedian and CEO of Wileywood Entertainment, LLC; a production and distribution company responsible for saturating the public with his highly gabbed about CD’s and DVD titles including; “Pretty Women Never Get Married, How to Live Holy When You’re Horny, Acting Married and the Devil Aint the Only One Busy.” There are plans this year to expand his brand by pursuing appearances in television commercials and of adding acting to his list of accomplishments.
